Community Communauté & Bénévolat
When asked about their favorite part of LILA, families come back systematically with three things: the academic programs, the teachers and the community. For many of our families, the LILA community, including its teachers, staff and fellow families, is an extended family. Whether parents want to be part of something larger than themselves or whether they’re simply looking to build their own local family because they are far away from home, our community is one of the things that sets LILA apart.

Indeed, each campus is home to a Parents’ Association that is responsible for community building and putting on events that welcome all families to engage, participate, and enjoy. Some highlights include annual events such as:
- French Holiday Bazaar in December (Burbank campus)
- LILApalooza in May (Los Feliz campus)
- International Day in May (West Valley campus)
- Kermesse in June (Pasadena campus)
The Parents’ Associations’ impact extends beyond these events by also inviting experts to host parenting workshops for families to address some of the questions and concerns that come up with raising children today.

Most of these are volunteer-led efforts that help make LILA the special place that it is. All parents are encouraged to participate in a way that is meaningful to them. LILA parents can be found volunteering in many capacities including as: Parents’ Association officers and committee leads, Annual Fund leaders, Parent Ambassadors, Homeroom Parents, Trustees, and more.
There is something for everyone.
