Elementary school is a foundational chapter in a child’s life, marking their first contact with structured learning. These formative years are characterized by intellectual curiosity which, when cultivated, sets children up for a lifetime love of learning.
At the International School of Los Angeles, each elementary class boasts two teachers—one a native-level French speaker and the other a native-level English speaker—ensuring a bilingual education that enriches our students’ cognitive development. Because of LILA’s international community, we stress cultural awareness and global citizenship.
A child’s well-being goes beyond academics, of course. We build upon traditional teaching methods by emphasizing critical thinking while prioritizing the social-emotional learning (SEL) of our students, recognizing it as a cornerstone of their overall growth. By fostering emotional intelligence and resilience, we equip our students with the essential skills they need to achieve academic success, flourish in community, and lead a fulfilling life.
